Ruffle Pencil Skirt

Happy Hump Day! So, I had tweeted about this ruffle pencil skirt a few days ago. I still can't believe I scored it for $22! I absolutely love the color and fit, and it's great for work. The best part is that, much like this wrap dress , this ruffle pencil skirt can easily transition from the work day to happy hour. I'll be honest, though - this skirt was a little tricky to style. Since it's such a bright color and has a huge ruffle in the front, it had to be styled with minimal pieces. Ideally, I'd pair it with a black tank, but that's not appropriate for work. Then I remember this lace sleeve top I had from years ago, that I hadn't worn in a while, and it worked out perfectly with the ruffle pencil skirt! Also, when I came back from SF, I decided to throw out my pair of basic black pumps, since they were completely worn out. Since then, I had been on the hunt for a pair of basic black pumps, and I found these on major clearance! Personally, I love them, but I'm not sure if they can be used as a basic pair, due to the silver heel. What do you guys think?

By the way, I started a month-long, Hindu religious fast on Sunday. So, I can eat one full meal a day, and I have dinner. Other than that, throughout the day, I have fruits, veggies, nuts, and dairy. I've pretty much been having green juices and smoothies all day. Also, I have fresh fruit whenever I can. Fortunately, it's watermelon season and I love, LOVE watermelon! I can't have grains or beans except for the one meal. I'm hoping to cleanse/detox my system a bit by the end of the month. It's not a hardcore cleanse, but I'm trying my best to eat as good as I can. I told my team at work to keep me super busy so my days go by faster!

Now that I think of it, I think this ruffle pencil skirt would also be perfect for weekend brunches, no? It's also great to transition from Summer to Fall. I am so excited to wear this skirt far too often! Speaking of Fall, can you guys believe tomorrow's the last day of July?? Time is flying by so quickly!
