Personal Announcement

Hi lovebugs - I hope you're all having a fabulous week! Did you get to check out the pictures from friend's wedding ? I'm still going through withdrawals from all the wedding fun.

Anyways, moving on to today's post. I have decided to take a hiatus from blogging, to focus on some personal goals that I need to accomplish. This is something I should have done a long time ago but I love blogging too much and couldn't step away from it. However, I have realized that this hiatus is imperative at this point.

As you may know, I just recently graduated with my MBA in Marketing. However, I don't have a job lined up yet. To be honest, I spent a few months applying aggressively but all I got out of that is a folder full of rejection emails - not even one interview! So, due to the fear of rejection, I stopped applying. Silly, I know, but I just needed a break from all the rejections. It has been particularly frustrating because I know that I most certainly qualify for the positions I apply for. I know that I can do the job, and do it well. So, I don't know what leads to all these rejections. Anyhoo, I suppose taking a blogging hiatus is sort of a tough love move/incentive for me to really focus on my job search. You know how, as kids, our parents used to take away something we loved until we finished our assigned chores? Yea, sorta like that. So, the sooner I find a job, the sooner I can return to blogging.

In case any of you guys can, and are willing to help, here's my LinkedIn profile. I am looking for merchandise/retail sales planner type of roles or brand/product manager type of roles. Additionally, if after viewing my LinkedIn profile, you fill that I would be a good fit for another position, I would be totally open to knowing more about that. I am open to relocating. So, if you, or someone you know can help, I would be greatly appreciative! We all know, being referred is always better than just randomly applying on a website! Please email me if you can help. Thank you SO much!

The other goal I need to focus on is getting my feet back in shape. I have severe plantar fasciitis and I have not been paying the kind of attention I should to this issue. I can't stand for more than two hours at the most, even in sneakers, without being in excruciating pain. I also have an inflamed ankle and both my achilles tendons are messed up and in severe pain at all times. (FYI, the heels you see in my posts are mostly worn only for pictures. If I'm at an event or something, I always carry flats with me - not that flats are much better.)  So, I need to really dedicate myself to doing the exercises and whatever else I need to do to handle these issue. Also, once my feet are back to normal, I can start working out and get my body back in shape. I can't believe I'm saying this out loud, on the internets, but I am not comfortable with how I look right now. I'm not saying I'm fat or obese or anything, because I know I'm not. I'm just out of shape. I have been trying to go to the gym but I really can't do much because of my feet. I was in physical therapy but then my insurance company said they don't cover anything for foot conditions (I don't even have words for this). I'm already stuck with a $300 bill for a shot I had to take and I can't get anymore physical therapy. So, I'm kind of on my own in fixing my ankle, achilles, and plantar (yay US Healthcare system!)

Also, as you may know, my father had a heart attack and had to go through surgery back in February. However, because he is a business owner, he hasn't been able to get the kind of rest he needs. So, I have been helping out at his store so that he can take it somewhat easy. I also have both my grandmothers visiting from India.

So, as you can see, I have got a lot going on. This blog is probably the only thing that I am truly passionate about. However, two days ago, I had a nervous breakdown and I realized that I was completely burnt out. I needed to take a step back and reevaluate my priorities. Although, if it were up to me, this blog would be my top priority. However, I actually really miss working, being part of a team, having and meeting deadlines, having coworkers, happy hours, and most importantly .... I miss getting paid! I am a perfectionist so I don't like to do anything half-heartedly or half assed. With all the craziness going on right now, I feel like I might have to do that with my blog posts and I definitely don't want to. So, I decided to do the adult thing and take a hiatus until I have everything else sorted out.

Now, honestly speaking, I don't think I can do a complete 100% hiatus. So, I might share an outfit here, or a covet list there. Also, I'm going to another Indian wedding July 4th weekend so, of course, I'll share pictures from that. But mostly, I am looking forward to coming back and sharing with all of you the announcement about my new job. I hope I'll be able to make that announcement soon (fingers crossed)!

As always, thank you for all your love and support! I will miss you guys so, so much! Please connect with me on Twitter and Instagram !!

You have a lot on your plate my dear. I absolutely loved the photos of your friend’s wedding. Beyond gorgeous!!! Just don’t give up. I don’t have a teaching job and I haven’t had any interviews yet, so we are kind of in the same boat. I know you will find the perfect job for you! Your dad and your health(feet) are in my thoughts and prayers Dhruvi. :)
